SUMMER PROGRAM
During the summer Westside takes advantage of using thematic units to help the children achieve higher levels of learning while having fun! We have found that this is a wonderful way to engage young children in learning, no matter what their strengths or abilities.
Our Summer Program runs typically from the beginning of June until the middle of August when the new school year begins. This program is for currently enrolled children ages 2-5 years and is a great way to take a break from the more structured learning approach practiced during the school year.
The children learn about topics such as travel, space, music, community helpers, etc. Activities are planned based on the weekly theme involving food projects, arts & crafts, books and music. There are a lot of opportunities for parent participation and involvement which is wonderful for the children to see their parents a part of their life at school.
